Dental implants can offer an excellent solution for single or multiple missing teeth. A dental implant is a small titanium post resembling a screw, and once inserted, your natural bone will grow into the surface of the implant, fixing it securely in place.
Dental implants can be used to support new prosthetic (false) teeth, either crowns or removable dentures. These new teeth can last for a lifetime, and are virtually indistinguishable from natural teeth.
Benefits of Dental Implants:
- Adjacent teeth not compromised unlike bridgework and dentures.
- Implants look and feel like your own teeth.
- Can be used to stabilize loose dentures.
“The major benefits have been that the teeth fit my mouth and feel amazingly comfortable, great care was taken to make sure that my bite was correct.
Smiling is better now!” (Mrs B Penrith)
A dental implant is often the best option to replace a missing tooth. Implants do not involve cutting down healthy teeth, as bridges may do, and provide better biting power than a denture. Dental implant treatment at Spedding Dental Clinic is carried out by Jack Spedding.
Keen to provide the best and most up to date treatments for his patients, Jack started placing and restoring implants in 2008; since then he has completed a Master's Degree in Dental Implantology from the University of Warwick. As well as placing implants for the patients registered at Spedding Dental Clinic, Jack takes referrals from over twenty local dentists for implant treatment, and regularly lectures on dental implants at dental postgraduate teaching days.
Jack is available for consultation on all matters relating to dental implants; if you are interested in implant treatment, either ask your dentist to make a referral to us, or if you would prefer, contact us directly for an informal discussion.
